Happy Diwali to All

Image
Hello All and Happy Diwali,  It is fascinating to see fire crackers and lights all over Bur Dubai and it doesn't feel we are away from our home town in India. So many people from different emirates and far places in Dubai visit Bur Dubai specially in Diwali to see the great festival India has. I could hear fire crackers until 2.00 am in the morning and I was happy to see everyone enjoying, specially children.   Next day morning when I woke up and went to balcony, I saw few people cleaning the crackers left over and I felt these people also deserves a Happy Diwali, though it is their duty to clean but their workload increased massively. Everywhere there were burned out crackers and frankly who likes a increased workload! Now if you think this post is about criticizing people who burst fire crackers, but no! It is a trend to blame and criticize everything on internet which I want to stay away with. On the contrary, I believe in principle of 'Live and Let Live&#

Difficulties

Answers to our questions do come but we have to wait for it to come. When the desire to get the answers is left and when we let go of the stress, the route becomes clearer. Difficult times are learning times, you learn highest during this time. You adjust, balance, re-align yourself. You understand, love and accept more. You forgive, trust and have more faith. I love watching plants in my balcony grow. Irrespective of all the unfavorable conditions, they grow. Not only they grow but give flowers and fruits, they never fail to amuse me. Be like plants 😊 grow and give..

My Maid - My Aid - My Lifeline

Image
Picture is from public domain I have heard so many people with their stories of maid and I was very skeptical about the whole thing. Since I am working, and was about to deliver a baby, I had to hire someone who can take care of my daughter, house & me. Being in Dubai this is the hardest job to handover your bundle of joy to someone you don’t know and thorough preparation is required. My first experience with maid was like others where I had to send her back just in 3 months of working with us. We had hired her as my husband knew her and we did not do any reality check or aligned expectations. We were happy to call someone we knew but that turned out to be even worse.   Now equipped with the latest failure, I knew what I wanted and started searching for a new maid with a strong believe that there are good people on earth and someone better would replace her and as if my wish was granted, I found the perfect maid for us. But to get there I assured the following:

Sankalp - The Taste of India

Image
Just as the name suggest, if you want the taste of India, you need to rush to enjoy time with Sankalp, situated in Oud Metha Road, near Lamcy plaza. Oud Metha is home to several restaurants, which suits to Jain, Vegetarians & Vegans. What separates Sankalp from other restaurants is their authentic Indian Punjabi & Chinese food. If you want to get a taste of Indian Chinese food, this is the place you must visit. We tried their mouthwatering ‘Chatpata Chinese Sizzler’. The sizzling platter included Noodles, Rice, Manchurian & Paneer Chili – all you want to eat in Chinese cuisine. I can’t get over with the taste which I wanted for so long. There are many Chinese restaurants but they won’t give you the same taste of India, I think Sankalp has done it!       Next we wanted to try their different specialty, which as per them was the Punjabi food. So, we ordered their Paneer Veg Gungatz which is mix of two vegetables separated by Papad. The taste was too g

Parenting tips of Boss Mumma!

I was in for the orientation day for my 2 years old daughter and was surprised on the questions raised at the meeting by other parents. There were questions like, will you feed the children? what if they don’t eat the food? will you make them learn how to eat food? I was surprised because my child was not only eating on her own but was also toilet trained and wearing shoes on her own so it was very strange for me and made me realize that there are few things which I might be doing differently. 1.        Over caring is spoiling them : We as a parent feel that children needs too much care to grow up but the opposite is true, they need our guidance and support rather than over care. Often parents do too much to look after the child and are exhausted to the core. I have seen mother running after child to feed, some mothers feed her son or daughter until they are 10years old. Mothers feel that they are responsible for their children’s food and stuff them. When my daughter was 6 month

Year of Giving

Image
This year is marked as Year of Giving by the UAE’s President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to make a difference in the lives of people around us. UAE cabinate's website ( https://uaecabinet.ae/en/year-of-giving ) quoted, 'Giving is not limited to monetary donation, it is rather the difference we make in someone's life, in a society or in a Nation'. There are various ways to make a difference and we would elaborate on one of the ways to contribute to this initiative. Instead of arranging extravagant birthday party me & my friend decided to celebrate her daughter’s birthday with ‘Senses’ to mark our first Giving of the year. Senses is a residential and day care facility for special needs, I had heard about Senses but never been there. So picked my camera, few packets of chips to munch with children. We drove via Jumeirah road and it took us around 30 mins to reach, however it would take around 20 minutes via Shaikh Zayed Road from Burdubai.

Chokhi Dhani - Perfect place for Short visit to Jaipur

Image
Rajasthan is a place where I wanted to visit when I was 10 years old, that dream realized after 20 years. When I think of Rajasthan, thought of vibrant colours, music, dance, history, architectural buildings, artistic culture and authentic Rajasthani food flies through my mind. I had a privileged to experience it thoroughly as only 2 of us (me and my friend) had decided to explore the beauty India has!   The entire trip was outstanding and one of those was 2 nights stay in Chokhi Dhani towards end of the trip. A resort with a setup of Ethnic village, surrounded by trees, Chirping birds and away from city’s hustle bustle. Our room was in a shape of a Hut, with wooden doors & a lock and key of ancient times.    It was very fascinating to see and experience the village style living after spending so much time in fast pace life of Mumbai & Dubai. The staff were overwhelming and always looked to help you with what you need. We checked in the afternoon and were s
